On June 18th, the New York Daily News
reported that baseball -- minor league, bleacher seat,
close-enough-to-suggest-a-few-plays-to-the-runner-style ball--
had come to Staten Island in the form of the Staten Island Yankees,
a feeder team for those other Yankees that play up in the Bronx.
We went to check it out. (Hey, the Mets don't have a minor
league team hereabouts -- though the News says they're hoping
to build a minor-league stadium down by the sea in Coney Island.)
