Paul Shafer and the band then come out and launch into a tune

or two, after which Dave pops out to say a quick hello ('How many

of you had no idea that you'd be sitting here right now when you

woke up this morning? (About half the audience.) 'How many of you

would rather be over at the taping of Rosie right now? Nobody?

Really? Gee, I'd kind of like to be over there right now...') and then

before you know it the curtain's coming up and it's showtime. Libby

had a similiar experience (except for sitting in the Ugly Fellas row,

that is) when she and her friend Karen Cree went to a taping of the

Regis & Kathy Lee show. I'm not entirely sure what's happening in

the photo above; perhaps Kathy and her producers brought everyone

in the audience a mug of hot coffee. If so, high marks

to Regis and Kathy Lee, I must say.
