Not an Englishman. And not in India or Africa, for that matter.

"Wherever an Englishman may find himself, in India or Africa,

in desert or jungle, he will seek opportunity for sport...His duty,

his work will come frist; but he will always try to get his sport,"

writes Eric Parker in British Sport (Penns in the Rock Press,

William Collins of London, 1941). Sixty years on, wherever the

football fan may be, at a wired cafe or anywhere his laptop allows,

he will seek out sports scores and commentary on the Internet.
