Now, I'm far from certain that grafitti is art -- most graffiti

strikes me as something closer to do-it-yourself erosion --

but now and again one leans against a doorway or saunters

past a loading bay and discovers something downrigh Whitney-

worthy (as well the Whitney knows; they helped to champion

the career of Keith Haring in the 1993 biennial.) Bast, here, for

instance; extraordinarily attentive readers may remember the

name from the Mystery of the Candle-Carrying Nun.
